You could warm the decal up by using a hairdryer, steamer, a heat gun etc. Lance's stickers are really good, they go on easy, stay on and don't shrink, and aren't too difficult to remove.

If your rv is getting up there in age, there’s a good chance its decals are not looking so good — faded out, cracked, even peeling.

Warming a decal up is the first thing to do if you want to get it off easily. Cheap grahics and decals used by many caravan manufactures have little thought put into the vinyl type and adhesive used so meths will remove, but the better caravan or large caravan builders use high quaity cast vinyl or even foiled laminated films and permanent adhesives which will last a long time and subsequently petroleum based solvents are required. These will also remove light scratches, surface stains and weathered paint.

To remove the foam residue, you can use a solvent or an eraser wheel based on your preference. We have existing libraries of most makes and models including jayco, coromal, avan, retreat, baroma, millard and viscount. If your rv is older, you may be left with an outline of the old decal.

I read somewhere on here about removing old vinyl with a steamer so i gave it a try and i was simply amazed at how easy the vinyl removed. In the video, wade uses a simple fiberglass restorer to improve the finish of the model rv’s fiberglass. This is the steamer we used.

If you do not have any of the above equipment, you could simply park your rv under direct sunlight. Then spray again and start wiping away the glue residue and repeat. The steam melted the glue and then we carefully peeled off each decal.

Repeat these steps on all of your decals then give the surface of your rv a good cleaning. Watch the short video for a demonstration. Fold paper towel into quarters.

Hi folks, as a recent purchaser of a noels island star caravan (adelaide), i have had some harrowing experiences with the quality of the van. Removal of underlying adhesive glue (the thicker adhesive left over from the original decal or wrap) removal of adhesive glue residue (usually a thin layer left behind from the thicker glue itself) polishing of abraded underlying material. Just do a small area at first then wash off with warm water to check that it doesnt affect the caravan finish.

This will depend on the age of your rv and level of oxidization. I've done this recently, although i'm not replacing the front roof height decals on my van as it's simply not worth the bother; Judicious use of a heat gun on its lowest setting or soak them in white spirit or my prefered method of removing old graphics, spray them with wd40 leave for 1/2 hour then come back & peel them off, you will then have to clean the van & quite possibly polish it with a fine cutting compound polish to even out the colour (i sparingly use farleca g3 compound) fit the.

There are two reasons we don’t think removing all the decals from your motorhome or caravan is a good idea. After you remove the decals with a hairdryer or what ever, use a plastic spatula as it wont gouge the paint !, i very carefully remove the adhesive with meths, or if you are really careful a spot of cellulose thinner on a soft cloth making sure not to remove the paint !!! We used a handheld steamer to remove the decals from our trailer.

Keep in mind, polishes are not a protective finish, and need to be topped off with wax. Steamers work wonders for this. If you have adorned your car with 3d stickers and are looking to get rid of it, you might want to use a fishing line.
